What Affiliate Marketers Need To Know

Every affiliate marketer is always looking for the successful market that gives the biggest paycheck. Sometimes they think it is a magic formula that is readily available for them. Actually, it is more complicated than that. It is just good marketing practices that have been proven over years of hard work and dedication.
There are tactics that have worked before with online marketing and is continuing to work in the online affiliate marketing world of today. With these top three marketing tips, you will be able to able to increase your sales and survive in the affiliate marketing online.

What are these three tactics?

1. Using unique web pages to promote each separate product you are marketing. Do not lump all of it together just to save some money on web hosting. It is best to have a site focusing on each and every product and nothing more.

Always include product reviews on the website so visitors will have an initial understanding on what the product can do to those who buys them. Also include testimonials from users who have already tried the product. Be sure that these customers are more than willing to allow you to use their names and photos on the site of the specific product you are marketing.

You can also write articles highlighting the uses of the product and include them on the website as an additional page. Make the pages attractive compelling and include calls to act on the information. Each headline should attract the readers to try and read more, even contact you. Highlight your special points. This will help your readers to learn what the page is about and will want to find out more.

2. Offer free reports to your readers. If possible position them at the very top side of your page so it they simply cannot be missed. Try to create autoresponder messages that will be mailed to those who input their personal information into your sign up box. According to research, a sale is closed usually on the seventh contact with a prospect.

Only two things can possibly happen with the web page alone: closed sale or the prospect leaving the page and never return again. By placing useful information into their inboxes at certain specified period, you will remind them of the product they thought they want later and will find out that the sale is closed. Be sure that the content is directed toward specific reasons to buy the product. Do not make it sound like a sales pitch.

Focus on important points like how your product can make life and things easier and more enjoyable. Include compelling subject lines in the email. As much as possible, avoid using the word “free” because there are still older spam filters that dumps those kind of contents into the junk before even anyone reading them first. Convince those who signed up for your free reports that they will be missing something big if they do not avail of your products and services.

3. Get the kind of traffic that is targeted to your product. Just think, if the person who visited your website has no interest whatsoever in what you are offering, they will be among those who move on and never come back. Write articles for publication in e-zines and e-reports. This way you can locate publications that is focusing on your target customers and what you have put up might just grab their interest.

Try to write a minimum of 2 articles per week, with at least 300-600 words in length. By continuously writing and maintaining these articles you can generate as many as 100 targeted readers to your site in a day.
Always remember that only 1 out of 100 people are likely to buy your product or get your services. If you can generate as much as 1,000 targeted hits for your website in a day, that means you can made 10 sales based on the average statistic.

The tactics given above does not really sound very difficult to do, if you think about it. It just requires a little time and an action plan on your part.

Try to use these tips for several affiliate marketing programs. You can end maintaining a good source of income and surviving in this business that not all marketers can do.
Besides, think of the huge paychecks you will be receiving…

Use PPC Marketing For Your Affiliate Programs

PPC is one of the four basic types of Search Engines. PPC is also one of the most cost-effective ways of targeted internet advertising. According to Forbes magazine, PPC or Pay Per Click, accounts to 2 billion dollars a year and is expected to increase to around 8 billion dollars by the year 2008.

Let us take a quick look at how PPC Search Engines work.

These engines create listings and rate them based on a bid amount the website owner is willing to pay for each click from that search engine. Advertisers bid against each other to receive higher ranking for a specific keyword or phrase.

The highest bidder for a certain keyword or phrase will then have the site ranked as number 1 in the PPC Search Engines followed by the second and third highest bidder, up to the last number that have placed a bid on the same keyword or phrase. Your ads then will appear prominently on the results pages based on the dollar amount bid you will agree to pay per click.

How do you make money by using PPC into your affiliate marketing business?

Most affiliate programs only pay when a sale is made or a lead delivered after a visitor has clickthrough your site. Your earnings will not always be the same as they will be dependent on the web site content and the traffic market.

The reason why you should incorporate PPC into your affiliate marketing program is that earnings are easier to make than in any other kind of affiliate program not using PPC. This way, you will be making profit based from the clickthroughs that your visitor will make on the advertiser’s site. Unlike some programs, you are not paid per sale or action.

PPC can be very resourceful of your website. With PPC Search Engines incorporated into your affiliate program, you will be able to profit from the visitor’s who are not interested in your products or services. The same ones who leave your site and never comes back.

You will not only get commissions not only from those who are just searching the web and finding the products and services that they wanted but you will be able to build your site’s recognition as a valuable resource. The visitors who have found what they needed from you site are likely to come back and review what you are offering more closely. Then they will eventually come back to search the web for other products.

This kind of affiliate program is also an easy way for you to generate some more additional revenues. For example, when a visitor on your site does a search in the PPC Search Engine and clicks on the advertiser bided listings, the advertisers’ account will then be deducted because of that click. With this, you will be compensated 30% to 80% of the advertisers’ bid amount.

PPC is not only a source of generating easy profits; it can also help you promote your own site. Most of the programs allow the commissions received to be spent for advertising with them instantly and with no minimum earning requirement. This is one of the more effective ways to exchange your raw visitors for targeted surfers who has more tendencies to purchase your products and services.

What will happen if you when you integrate PPC into your affiliate program?

PPC usually have ready-to-use affiliate tools that can be easily integrated into your website. The most common tools are search boxes, banners, text links and some 404-error pages. Most search engines utilize custom solutions and can provide you with a white-label affiliate program. This enables you, using only a few lines of code, to integrate remotely-hosted co-branded search engine into your website.

The key benefits? Not only more money generated but also some extra money on the side. Plus a lifetime commissions once you have referred some webmaster friends to the engine.

Think about it. Where can you get all these benefits while already generating some income for your site? Knowing some of the more useful tools you can use for your affiliate program is not a waste of time. They are rather a means of earning within an earning.

Tips For Marketing

1. Team Up
No one knows your market like you! What are the
main characteristics of your target audience? Find someone else
out there who isn't a competitor, but who reaches the same class
of customers that you do. Team up with them to do joint
promotions!

We all know that two is better than one. The
dramatic end results will be an effective and cost-cutting
advertising venture the nets both of you a nice profit.

I
once dealt with a veterinarian who promoted a local dog
groomer... who in turn promoted the local veterinarian. Yeah,
it's kind of a "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" set
up, but hey it works for both parties. Think about it...
customers are going to feel that the dog groomer is in the know
about who the best vet in town is, as well as trust the vet to
know who is the best dog groomer in the area. Sure, it's a win,
win situation for both the groomer and the vet.

2. Dig Out New
Niche Markets
Niche markets are everywhere, right under your
nose! Within the customer audience that you serve right now are
groups of people who share common traits. Think about it...
maybe you have a goup who speaks Spanish, a group of teens, and
a group of middle class family men and women.

Evaluate these
classes of people, and discover the unique needs and desires
they share. That will set you up to customize your advertising
campaign directly to them. It's not hard to take your current
ads, and make a few changes to adjust to the niches. They'll be
impressed that you understand THEM, and the increase in your
profits will be the best thanks you can get.

3. Hop On The
Latest Trends
Get in on the first floor of the latest trend...
before your competition becomes aware of it. Be a leader in the
industry! Hey, Internet marketing is still profitable all
around, but businesses who jumped on the band wagon early in the
game got the best proceeds for their insight.

We're not
talking about dropping everything and making a mad dash! Wise
marketers add to their already profitable businesses when they
see the "new and coming" techniques. Keep the customers you
already have on board, and add to your existing products and
services.

You can quickly and easily strengthen you business
and push out the competition by adding new layers to your
existing business, teaming up for joint promotions, and
discovering new markets to reach.

Building An Email List

With so many optin email lists out there, your really need to
come up with a hook to attractive subscribers. It needs to have
something special or different. It could be something you offer
inside every newsletter issue, like interviews with experts. Or
the hook could be a unique incentive that website vistors can
take advantage of immediately when they sign up.

Here are 3
ideas you can use for your own sites, or use as inspiration to
get you thinking a little outside of the box:

-- Build an Optin
Email List by Creating a Private Members Only Site or Section
--

Create a private web site and have people sign up to get
free, immediate access. For example, you could say, "Subscribe
to our free e-zine and get free access to our private membership
web site!" You can choose to have them receive a username and
password every time they want to login, or you can just provide
a link to the site in your welcome email.

Your private members
only site can be as big or as small as you want. Some of the
things you can include inside are: reports, software, articles,
ebooks, etc. Inside the site, you can advertise your affiliate
programs, as well. And you can follow-up to let them know about
updates, new products they might be interested in, the latest
news in your industry, etc.

-- Build an Optin Email List By
Giving Subscribers a Free, Tangible Gift --

Instead of offering
a free ebook (or a whole package of them) like most everybody
else, promise to give your visitors something they can hold in
their hands if they give you their contact information.

For
example, you could say "Subscribe today and get our new report
mailed to you via First Class." You could print out your report
on standard 8 x 11 sheets of paper, fold it up, put it inside an
envelope, and mail it off.

Or you can offer a tips booklet and
mail it to new subscribers. Or you can create your own CD full
of information targeted toward your market and mail that. Or if
you have a wholesale supply of a product of interest to your
subscribers, then you can send one to each new subscriber. The
possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

Follow-up
possibilities include: articles (your own or written by others),
tips you pick up, news in your niche, reviews of products or
other interested, related websites, etc.

-- Build an Optin
Email List Through a Contest or Sweepstakes --

Hold a free
contest or sweepstakes at your website where they must give
their contact information, including their email address, to
enter. Make the prize something that your niche market will be
interested in. Otherwise, they'll never want to enter.

If you
already have an ezine up and running, you could offer free
automatic entry for new subscribers. For example, you could say,
"Subscribe to our free newsletter and get automatic entry into
our contest." You'll also want to retroactively include current
subscribers.

You can announce the winner(s) at the end, as well
as send any new contest announcements or product announcements.
Or you can make this an ongoing contest, where you give away the
same thing to one (or more) lucky people every month. That way
you'll entice many subscribers to stay on your list.

You can
find niche products to give away through wholesalers or
dropshippers. Or you can create it yourself. One of my favorite
ways to do this is create a CD-Rom with a guide or report (or
sometimes several) that my niche market will find interesting.

Once again, you can follow-up with tips, articles, news, new
product announcements, or just an announcement of each monthly
winner(s).

Hopefully, now I've inspired you to take some action
or encouraged ideas of your own with these tips. Any idea, the
more popular it gets, requires you to think outside the box
every now and then in order to be effective. Building an optin
email list is no different. And with newsletters and ezines
saturating the Internet day by day, you need to offer something
a little different to make them want to sign up to yours. Or
you'll just end up getting left behind.

Becoming A Great Affiliate

Seasoned Vets and Newbies alike frequently ask the same question, What and where are the best affiliate programs?

My answer to this question will require answering the question with several questions.

First you'll want to ask yourself, what are you interested in?

Then, what do you know a little something about?

There are many sources as well as an affiliate program that would match just about any interest you may have or know something about.

Let's see if we can't simplify the process of chosing the best affiliate programs to promote.

Head on over to http://clickbank.com/
This is my favorite source of the most popular programs. They tell you the percentage you'll recieve on each sale and they also put it in dollars and cents. They also reveal other stats about each program that will help you to determine if the program you chose is right for you to promote.

Your next choice is http://www.linkshare.com/
LinkShare pioneered online affiliate marketing, and today runs the largest pay for performance affiliate marketing network on the Internet. With over 10 million partnerships in the network it is the most successful pay for performance network of its kind.

Next is Commission Junction http://www.cj.com/
Maximize your revenue opportunities by developing sustainable relationships with top-tier advertisers. Perform and get paid for every sale and lead you generate. For qualifying publishers, take your program to the next level with their industry exclusive solution for top-performers.

There are more equally as credible affiliate program sources on the web but for the sake of simplicity and to keep this article to a minimum length I'm going to limit these resources to the top three. If you like, you can simply go to your favorite search engine and continue your search fo "Affiliate Program Resources".

Knowing a little something about what you want to sell will be to your advantage but not required. After all, this is The Information Super Highway and whatever information we need can be found here. The tools at are disposal are many. You just need to know where they are and what they will tell you.

Google.com would be a good place to start your search. If you type "affiliate programs" into the search box you you will get a list of literally millions of potential programs. At the time of this writing (7-12-06) there were 111,000,000 possible affiliate programs to chose from. That blows my mind (:-(

You don't have to weed through that many sites. The first few pages should give you a few ideas as to what you want to promote. Try and stick with something you've got some background in.

For example, let's say you've been working in a pet store for awhile. See if you can't find an affiliate program related to pets. Maybe pet food, pet training, pet care, etc. Perhaps you'll want to target specific pets like dogs or dog training. Dog Training and Dog Breeds are very "HOT" Markets right now and I suspect they will be for quite sometime to come.

Let's say you've chosen Dog Breeds as a topic of interest. It's time to research that topic and see if there is indeed a market for it.

Go to Overture.com and type Dog Breeds into the search box. I found the amount of searches done for this topic to be 184,184 in April 2006. This would certainly be a topic I'd want to further investigate.

I'd follow that bit of information up by going to Nichebot.com and typing those same key words into the search box. The information returned will prove to be an invaluable tool for making you affilate program choice. Pay particular attention to the far right column. The numbers that are closest to zero determine less competition. Look for something in that category and copy those keywords back to Google.com and do another search. I'm sure you'll be able to find a program to join and promote.

Try and find a Program with at least a 50% commission, which comes out to at least $20. for you. More if possible. You can chose a program with a lesser commission if it is what's called a high ticket item. A good rule of thumb to remember is "It takes as much effort to promote High Ticket Items as it does to promote a program for a $20.00 Sale".

So why waste your time and advertising dollars promoting products that only bring a $20.00 commission when the same amount of time and money can bring you a commission of $200.00. It's good sense and the math tells the story as well.

The time and effort spent promoting small ticket items is the same as high ticket items. The benefit is you don't have to make as many sales with the more expensive item as you do with the smaller one.

The best advice I can give is to be patient, utilize as many free resources to promote your programs as you can. There are many. Get your own domain and web host. You'll want to put together a site that is unlike the generic affiliate site that the owner provides. This will put you in a different category as you will not be promoting the same page as a thousand other marketers. It will also make you credible and establish you as someone who is serious about their business on the web.

Patience is a Virtue. Posess it if you can and by the way, Happy Marketing!

Why Choose Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is advertising for someone else in
exchange for a cut of the sales you generate. You’re sharing
your traffic for a price. It’s a great way to capitalize on the
traffic your website’s already producing.

Being an
Affiliate

If you run a small, home-based eBiz, you can join an
affiliate program and get paid to share your traffic with
another merchant. You’ll want to look for sites that tie in with
yours—things your customer base will be interested in. Choose
sites whose products are complementary to yours without
overlapping.

Before you join any affiliate program, look
closely at the merchant you’ll be promoting. Find out if they
have an affiliate earnings history—can they prove their site
converts at a specific rate? Do they have an affiliate manager
you can talk to about your marketing efforts and any problems
you have? Is their program well-established? You want to make
sure they’re honest and will pay you for the conversions you
bring them.

Your goal is to make customers want to buy their
product, and then pass the customers along so the merchant can
complete the sale. Don’t just paste a link to a merchant’s
webpage and expect it to magically produce sales—tell your
customers what makes their product better than other similar
products. According to Jonathan Miller, of
http://Team-Affiliate.com, “The sites that do better are the
ones that select one or two offers, tell people why they
recommend these particular offers, and then provide them with a
link.”

Using Affiliates

You can increase your own traffic by
paying a commission to other merchants to bring you leads. As a
merchant, you should scrutinize the affiliates who advertise for
you. You’re attaching your brand to their website, so look at
their reputation—are they someone you want to be associated
with? Also look at their relevance to your target market—are
they someone that will drive the right kind of traffic?

There
are software programs that track visitors when they leave an
affiliate’s website and click through to the merchant’s site. If
they convert to a sale, the affiliate that referred them gets
paid a commission. You can track your visitors in two different
ways, and each has its own advantages:

• You can purchase stand
alone tracking software, like My Affiliate Program, and
integrate it into your site. You decide what you can afford to
pay marketers to promote you and make offers based on your
budget.

• You can join an affiliate network, such as LinkShare
or Kolimbo. This is a more costly route because the network
determines the commission percentage you pay, but they also
bring you offers from the inside and give you access to their
pool of affiliates.

Says Miller, “An affiliate program can be
very lucrative for both an affiliate marketer and a merchant…
But it takes time and effort to deliver consistent results.”

Residual Affiliate Marketing

If you're seriously interested in knowing about Affiliate
Programs, you need to think beyond the basics. This informative
article takes a closer look at things you need to know about
Affiliate Programs.

Are you a webmaster in need of additional
income? Or are you planning to set up an online business but
you still don't have any product to sell? If so, affiliate
marketing may be the best solution for your problems. With
affiliate marketing, you won't need to worry about the products
you have to sell. All you need to have is a website with
sufficient contents that are related to the products of a
certain online company offering affiliate programs. By becoming
a member of the program, or by becoming an affiliate, you can
start earning a certain amount of money right away!

Affiliate
marketing is some sort of business relationship established
between a merchant and his affiliates. In affiliate marketing,
an affiliate agrees to direct some traffic to a merchant's
website. If that traffic is converted into some kind of action,
like a visitor purchasing a product on the merchant's website or
a visitor becoming a lead for the company, the affiliate who
directed the traffic will be compensated. Compensation may take
the form of either a percentage sales commission for the sales
generated or a fixed fee predetermined upon the application of
the affiliate on the merchant's affiliate program.

Promising a
lot of benefits both for the merchants and the affiliates,
affiliate marketing has become one of the most popular online
marketing methods today. In fact, almost every merchant or
retailer site today offers an affiliate program that any one can
join into. Most retailers would entice people to become
affiliates or members of their program by promising great
benefits like large commissions, lifetime commissions, click
through incomes and a lot of other benefits. But would all
these affiliate programs bring off the same benefits?

Most
affiliate programs would pay you, as an affiliate, a one-time
commission for every sale or lead you brought to the merchant's
website. Commissions for this kind of affiliate programs are
usually large, ranging from 15% to a high of about 60%. Other
affiliate programs would pay you a fixed fee for every click
through or traffic you send to the merchant's site. Programs
like this often pay a smaller fee for every click through,
usually not getting any larger than half a dollar. The good
thing about this kind of program, however, is that the visitor
won't have to purchase anything in order for the affiliate to
get compensated.

Another type of affiliate program is the
residual income affiliate program. Residual affiliate programs
usually pay only a small percentage of sales commission for
every sale directed by the affiliate to the merchant's site.
This commission often comes only in the range of 10% to 20%
sales commission. Because of this, many people ignore residual
affiliate program and would rather opt for the high paying
one-time commission affiliate program. Are these people making
a mistake, or are they making the right decision?

How can you
put a limit on learning more? The next section may contain that
one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.

We can't
tell, for sure, if people are making a mistake by choosing a
high paying one-time commission affiliate program. But we can
definitely say that they are making a large mistake if they
ignore residual affiliate programs. Residual affiliate programs
would indeed pay at a lower rate, but merchants offering such
kind of programs would generally pay you regular and ongoing
commissions for a single affiliate initiated sale! That means,
for the same effort you made in promoting a particular affiliate
program, you get paid only once in a one-time commission
program, and a regular and ongoing commission for a residual
program!

So, are the benefits of promoting residual affiliate
programs clearer to you now? Or are they still vague? If they
are still vague, then let's make them a bit clearer with this
example.

Suppose there are two online merchants both offering
web hosting services on their sites. The first merchant offers
a one-time commission type of affiliate program that pays $80
for every single affiliate initiated sale. The second merchant
also offers an affiliate program, but this time a residual
affiliate program that pays only $10 for every single affiliate
initiated sale. As an affiliate, we may get attracted at once
at what the first merchant is offering, as $80 is definitely a
lot larger than $10. But by thinking things over before
actually getting into them, one may be able to see that the
second merchant is offering us more opportunity to earn a larger
amount of money.

Supposed you have directed traffic to the
merchant and it converted into a sale, you'll get paid once by
the first merchant for the sale you have initiated. But with
the second merchant, you'll get paid monthly for as long as the
customer you have referred to the merchant continues to avail of
the web hosting service. That means that for the same effort of
getting one customer to avail of the merchant's service, you get
paid monthly in residual affiliate programs while you only get
paid once in a one-time commission type of affiliate
programs.

So, are residual affiliate programs worth promoting?
Definitely yes, because you virtually get more money from these
types of affiliate programs in the long run! And would residual
affiliate programs work best for you? Probably not, probably
yes. It is not really for me to tell. But with the benefits
that residual affiliate marketing can provide, it would really
be unwise to ignore such programs.

Now you can be a confident
expert on Affiliate Programs. OK, maybe not an expert. But you
should have something to bring to the table next time you join a
discussion on Affiliate Programs. Click

If so, affiliate marketing may be the best solution for your problems. With affiliate marketing, you won't need to worry about the products you have to sell. All you need to have is a website with sufficient contents that are related to the products of a certain online company offering affiliate programs. By becoming a member of the program, or by becoming an affiliate, you can start earning a certain amount of money right away!

Affiliate marketing is some sort of business relationship established between a merchant and his affiliates. In affiliate marketing, an affiliate agrees to direct some traffic to a merchant's website. If that traffic is converted into some kind of action, like a visitor purchasing a product on the merchant's website or a visitor becoming a lead for the company, the affiliate who directed the traffic will be compensated. Compensation may take the form of either a percentage sales commission for the sales generated or a fixed fee predetermined upon the application of the affiliate on the merchant's affiliate program.

Promising a lot of benefits both for the merchants and the affiliates, affiliate marketing has become one of the most popular online marketing methods today. In fact, almost every merchant or retailer site today offers an affiliate program that any one can join into. Most retailers would entice people to become affiliates or members of their program by promising great benefits like large commissions, lifetime commissions, click through incomes and a lot of other benefits. But would all these affiliate programs bring off the same benefits?

Most affiliate programs would pay you, as an affiliate, a one-time commission for every sale or lead you brought to the merchant's website. Commissions for this kind of affiliate programs are usually large, ranging from 15% to a high of about 60%. Other affiliate programs would pay you a fixed fee for every click through or traffic you send to the merchant's site. Programs like this often pay a smaller fee for every click through, usually not getting any larger than half a dollar. The good thing about this kind of program, however, is that the visitor won't have to purchase anything in order for the affiliate to get compensated.

Another type of affiliate program is the residual income affiliate program. Residual affiliate programs usually pay only a small percentage of sales commission for every sale directed by the affiliate to the merchant's site. This commission often comes only in the range of 10% to 20% sales commission. Because of this, many people ignore residual affiliate program and would rather opt for the high paying one-time commission affiliate program. Are these people making a mistake, or are they making the right decision?

How can you put a limit on learning more? The next section may contain that one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.

We can't tell, for sure, if people are making a mistake by choosing a high paying one-time commission affiliate program. But we can definitely say that they are making a large mistake if they ignore residual affiliate programs. Residual affiliate programs would indeed pay at a lower rate, but merchants offering such kind of programs would generally pay you regular and ongoing commissions for a single affiliate initiated sale! That means, for the same effort you made in promoting a particular affiliate program, you get paid only once in a one-time commission program, and a regular and ongoing commission for a residual program!

So, are the benefits of promoting residual affiliate programs clearer to you now? Or are they still vague? If they are still vague, then let's make them a bit clearer with this example.

Suppose there are two online merchants both offering web hosting services on their sites. The first merchant offers a one-time commission type of affiliate program that pays $80 for every single affiliate initiated sale. The second merchant also offers an affiliate program, but this time a residual affiliate program that pays only $10 for every single affiliate initiated sale. As an affiliate, we may get attracted at once at what the first merchant is offering, as $80 is definitely a lot larger than $10. But by thinking things over before actually getting into them, one may be able to see that the second merchant is offering us more opportunity to earn a larger amount of money.

Supposed you have directed traffic to the merchant and it converted into a sale, you'll get paid once by the first merchant for the sale you have initiated. But with the second merchant, you'll get paid monthly for as long as the customer you have referred to the merchant continues to avail of the web hosting service. That means that for the same effort of getting one customer to avail of the merchant's service, you get paid monthly in residual affiliate programs while you only get paid once in a one-time commission type of affiliate programs.

So, are residual affiliate programs worth promoting? Definitely yes, because you virtually get more money from these types of affiliate programs in the long run! And would residual affiliate programs work best for you? Probably not, probably yes. It is not really for me to tell. But with the benefits that residual affiliate marketing can provide, it would really be unwise to ignore such programs.

Building An Optin Email List

Making Your Ad Successful

When was the last time you bought a car? Did you really NEED a car? I mean REALLY need a car? Chances are the one you were driving was still running when you bought the car you have now. Yep, Americans rarely buy because they need... they buy because they want to experience the feeling that comes with buying.

We enjoy new purchases. Sure, we can convince ourselves that we really needed a new one, but if we're totally honest we'll have to admit that w could have got by without it. What does this mean to your advertising campaign?

1. State The Benefits Of Your Product or Service
Capitalize on the ways a customer will improve his lifestyle by making the purchase. Will he increase his own business profits by 50 percent? Say so in the opening statement of your sales letter, or at the top of your Web page.

Don't obsess with the features of the product itself or your credibility. Frankly, customers could care less. Let's face it... they're a bit selfish when it comes to dishing out their hard earned money. All they want to know is what's in it for them.

2. Paint Word Picture That Let Them Experience the Benefits
"Wake up tomorrow, with no boss! You can spend the day with your family or on the golf course... there's nobody to tell you what to do."

A Multi Level Marketer may want his audience to feel the freedom of having no one to answer to if they become successful in the business. He'll dramatize that desire, and put the listener in the seat to inspire it to take hold until the listener is ready to sign up and get started.

3. Inspire Immediate Action
Hey, let's face it... the longer a customer lolly gags, the greater the chances he'll never take the plunge. Don't let him off the hook that easily!

Set a deadline. Put on the pressure to buy now, or miss out on the deal. Chances are pretty good that the procrastinator will get with it just to save a few bucks.

What about your sales materials? Have you taken a good look at the things you are advertising? Make sure you are focused on the benefits the consumer will experience from the purchase, and not on the features of the product or service.
